Jackie Tyree is an artist of exceptional
ability who paints mostly in the San Diego, California area. She
is a member of the San Diego Art Guild and displays her art at the Off
Track Gallery at 500 Second Street, Encinitas, California
92024. The Gallery is open daily from
11am to 5pm.
Jacqueline
Tyree grew up in Stockton, California where she attended Stockton
High School and went on to the University of the Pacific.
She has been a benefactor to many worthwhile organizations and has been
the recipient of numerous honors.
As
a young school girl in Stockton, she won several awards for her
youthful endeavors at art. One imaginative painting was exhibited
in the 1939 San Francisco World's Fair.
Miniatures
have presented only one of many challenges to her. She is well
known for painting water studies and seascapes. She also is a
watercolorist and studied with a dear friend, Robert Landry.
Seascapes are high on her list to do. Jackie loves the water and
all its moods. "Painting is somewhat like fishing" she states,
"It's the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable."
For many years, Jackie studied and painted Southern California seascapes with Thelma S. Houston.
Jackie has painted many subjects, but fell in love with the sea, as you can see by her work displayed in our gallery.
